about
The Lucid Sound project involved the detailed design and product engineering of a compact speaker that unifies acoustic performance, electronics, and an interactive lighting system. The primary engineering challenge lay in leveraging the system’s mandatory elements: the printed circuit board (PCB) was utilized not only as the functional core but also as a physical refraction element. Through constructive analysis and light-guiding principles, the PCB acts as a diffuser to evenly propagate illumination across the base, achieving a seamless, linear effect akin to an embedded LED strip.
The device's body consists of an opaque internal structure housing the acoustic transducers and electronics, protected by a translucent outer shell. This external enclosure features a geometric pattern of textured micro-perforations that filter and soften the light, generating a diffused and sophisticated luminous atmosphere. The entire development has been validated through high-precision 3D modeling, mechanical tolerance optimization for assembly, and the manufacture of real prototypes currently in the final finishing stage for interaction and technical performance testing.
